TEHRAN - The Majlis has received a motion from MPs to impeach Transport and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhondi.

13 MPs have so far signed the impeachment motion, the Shana news agency reported Sunday.
Mohammad Dehqan, a member of the Majlis presiding board, said the minister will likely be questioned for not fulfilling his promised plans, problems related to roads and urban development, rural housing projects, as well as financial deficits of the ministry.

Earlier in May, 24 MPs signed a motion to impeach Akhondi. At that time, MP Mousarreza Servati said, “As of today, neither the problem of housing, nor the problem of flights has been solved. Development problems are extant as well.”
